Exceptional Care for Who Matters Most

The Care You’re Seeking, the Lifestyle They Deserve

We all deserve to feel loved, valued, and cared for—no matter what. If your loved one’s life has been impacted by cognitive change, if you worry for their safety, or have growing concerns they’re unable to care for themself as they once did—there is help and support for them and for you.

Meet the Small Senior Community with a Big Heart

We designed Emory Mills to be a place our valued community members could truly call home. Instead of going big, we planned with intention—The intention to create a senior living community with heart and soul.

The belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, secure, and cared for, no matter the challenges they face.

The desire to offer Tennessee seniors a better quality of senior living—one that’s committed to understanding them and making them feel valued.

The goal to develop a new kind of programming, based around modern evidence instead of outdated practices and ideas about dementia care.

The wish to give back to the wonderful Tennessee communities we’re also proud to be part of.

What Makes Emory Mills Special

The rolling foothills of these beautiful Smoky Mountains are a truly special place to call home. Whether your family has resided here for generations, or you relocated after being captivated by its unique charms—the Knoxville region has so much to offer all who call it home.

Yet, when it comes to senior living and care—this area leaves a lot to be desired. Our founders grappled with this issue firsthand, when seeking senior services for a loved one in need. Southern values are rooted in our commitment to family and community. Our elders are vital to this dynamic—they hold the keys to our shared history and the stories that make us who we are.

One example of our commitment to offer the very best to our elders, is our partnership with the Hearthstone Institute. Hearthstone’s I’m Still Here philosophy ensures that every person living with dementia still has an opportunity to learn and have meaningful, purposeful experiences regardless of the stages of cognitive and physical health. The approach creates opportunities for connection and purpose by focusing on remaining abilities and preferences.

Specially trained staff learn each resident’s life story to develop clubs, classes, and committees that reflect interests and integrate them into the community’s daily activities. For example, residents may participate in or lead a cooking class, join the choir, or assume a leadership role in daily morning discussions or volunteer service committees.
