Evidence Based Memory Care
Why choose memory care with Emory Mills?
From easy to navigate layouts to soothing colors, our residents are set up for success from the moment they join our community. Our trained team members also provide as-needed adaptations, arranging our environments and activities to support our residents in the ways they need.
I’m Still Here® focuses on four “A”s in managing behaviors that are symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia:
Agitation – Apathy – Anxiety – Aggression
If we can usually find the root of where these behaviors are coming from it leads to a more peaceful life for the resident.
I’m Still Here® is a holistic, evidence-based, non-pharmacological approach to dementia care, which ensures comprehensive, customized care through—
Environmental adaptions, Specialized communication techniques, Staff training, Life enrichment programs, Family involvement
With this comprehensive care approach, people living with dementia can remain creative and actively engaged throughout their lives.
Because dementia is not the end—it’s just another chapter in life’s story.
With I’m Still Here®, your loved one will get the support and care they need to enjoy the quality of life they deserve.
What does I’m Still Here® look like in action?
I’m Still Here® is a signature, comprehensive memory care program, developed by the Hearthstone Institute and based upon the best in modern dementia care research and brain science.
It is a skills-based approach, meaning it focuses on residents’ abilities, instead of their deficits.
We tailor our daily activities to each resident’s cognitive capabilities, strengths, and preferences. This approach fosters self-esteem, independence, learning, and connection.
I’m Still Here® offers three distinct levels of programming, geared toward our resident’s cognitive abilities and dementia stage.
Each level provides activities and engagement opportunities, with appropriate modifications and adjustments. We also customize these programs further, to account for each resident’s individual preferences and needs.
No matter what your loved one needs to live a rich, full life as a resident of our Emory Mills memory care community, they’ll receive it with I’m Still Here®.
