Emory Mills symbolizes our family’s deep roots in the Knoxville area. Brantley General Store, at the intersection of Dry Gap Pike and Emory Road, served for many years as a community center for people to shop, socialize, and support one another. Our entrepreneurial grandparents sold needed goods, but also generously and quietly offered help to many neighbors, family and friends who had fallen on hard times.
Our father, Flonze E. Sorey, continued this tradition of community support through his business ventures on the same site, his lifelong work as a Baptist minister, and his funding of many local projects.
In his honor, we continue this legacy by opening the doors to Emory Mills where support and love are offered to friends who will become family.
A family is defined by caring and love, no matter what life brings. At Emory Mills we focus on being family, making friends, having plenty of fun, and maintaining a positive view, looking to a meaningful future.
